Job summary

Airport Authority invites a sustainability professional to support and lead carbon reduction initiatives across the HKIA ecosystem. You will coordinate with internal teams and external partners to implement programmes such as the Net Zero Carbon Pledge and related audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years’ relevant sustainability experience, preferably with carbon management exposure.
• Proven liaison and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Excellent English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua) communication.
• Strong planning and project management capabilities.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Training as a carbon auditor and driving licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of HKIA Carbon Reduction Programme with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead carbon auditing for business partners in HKIA Net Zero Carbon Pledge.
• Develop business cases for sustainability initiatives with environmental and economic analyses.
• Manage external consultants and contractors delivering carbon-related projects.
• Support development of new carbon reduction initiatives across the airport community.
• Research emerging technologies and global practices for decarbonisation opportunities.
• Review global sustainability reporting frameworks and perform gap analyses.
• Support AA/HKIA transition plan with financial analysis where required.
• Prepare Board and senior management papers for environmental projects.
• Support AA’s external sustainability activities, including ISO 14001 monitoring and forums.
• Coordinate publicity and engagement activities for environmental performance.
• Mentor junior team members and support other sustainability programmes.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the HKIA Carbon Reduction Programme, including the HKIA Net Zero Carbon Pledge and the Business Partners Carbon Support Programme, through close coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead carbon auditing for business partners participating in the HKIA Net Zero Carbon Pledge
• Develop business cases for new sustainability initiatives, including environmental and economic analyses, project scoping, option evaluation and implementation planning
• Manage external consultants and contractors supporting the delivery of carbon-related projects
• Manage technology working groups and support the development of new carbon reduction initiatives across the airport community
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and global practices to identify new opportunities for HKIA’s decarbonisation
• Review relevant global sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, and develop gap analyses and alignment plans where required
• Support the development and implementation of AAHK’s transition plan, including financial analysis and quantification where required
• Prepare Board and senior management papers for environmental projects
• Support AA’s participation in external sustainability activities, including ISO 14001 monitoring, conferences and industry forums
• Support the coordination of publicity and engagement initiatives to promote good environmental performance across the airport community
• Support the mentorship and development of junior team members
• Support other sustainability programmes, projects and initiatives as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability or other related disciplines
• Training as a carbon auditor and possession of a valid driving licence are an advantage
• Minimum 6 years’ relevant working experience in sustainability, preferably with exposure to carbon management
• Proven track record in liaison and engagement with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver high‑quality written and verbal outputs
• Solid planning and project management capabilities
• A self‑disciplined team player who is also able to work independently
• Ability to think strategically and pragmatically
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English & Chinese (i.e. Cantonese & Putonghua)
• Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
