Job summary

HTK is seeking a Regulatory Compliance professional to provide advisory support for the insurance agency businesses within its Group Risk & Regulatory unit in Hong Kong.

You will design governance structures, coordinate with compliance and legal teams, monitor regulatory landscape and develop action plans to maintain strict compliance with laws and internal policies. English and Chinese communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance.
• Sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and guidelines (e.g. IA, MPFA, etc.).
• Knowledge of life insurance and general insurance products is essential.
• Prior experience in consultancy firm, risk management, liaison with regulator would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory compliance advice and insight to support effective controls on the daily operation of insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services.
• Design and implement the Risk and Compliance governance structure for the insurance businesses.
• Coordinate with the 1st line Compliance and the Group Legal to ensure insurance businesses operate in strict compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal guidelines.
• Monitor the current insurance regulatory landscape and devise action plans in response to regulatory changes.
• Organize training/briefings with insurance businesses to promote awareness of Group policy requirements.
• Liaise with the 1st line Compliance on preparation of compliance reporting to management/relevant authorities/insurance principals.
• Support the review and evaluation of commercial deals and new initiatives of the insurance businesses.

This role under Group Risk & Regulatory primarily provides regulatory compliance advisory to the insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services and ensures the relevant teams to operate in a strict adherence to the applicable legal/ regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.

Your new role

• Provide regulatory compliance advice and insight to support effective controls on the daily operation of insurance agency businesses of HKT Financial Services

• Organize training/ briefing with insurance businesses to promote their awareness of the Group policy requirements
• Liaise with the 1st line Compliance on preparation of compliance reporting to management/ relevant authorities/ insurance principals
• Support the review and evaluation of commercial deals and new initiatives of the insurance businesses

To succeed in this role

• University degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance, preferably gained from insurance industry
• Sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and guidelines e.g. IA, MPFA, etc.
• Knowledge of life insurance and general insurance products is essential
• Prior experience in consultancy firm, risk management, liaison with regulator would be a definite advantage
• Proficient communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Self-motivated, independent team player with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese

Candidate with less experience might be considered for an Assistant Manager role.
