Job summary

CHINA INTERNATIONAL DEVOLOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED in Wan Chai District, Hong Kong, seeks an experienced Legal & Compliance professional to advise on industry laws and corporate matters within an insurance framework. You will review and negotiate external documents and coordinate with departments to ensure regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of legal/compliance experience in banking or insurance.
• Sound knowledge in insurance laws and regulations.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to timely and appropriately identify and escalate issues.
• Self-motivated, independent and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Job description

Advise on industry-related laws, regulations and other corporate matters in daily activities and initiatives. Review and negotiate legal documentations, general agreements and commercial materials. Monitor Regulatory and Product compliance risks.

Key responsibilities

Provide legal advice and support to all business and support units within the insurance company and assist the senior manager in providing broad legal advice to management to protect the interest of the firm

Review and negotiate external documents, including but not limited to customer notifications and customer forms

Participate in corporate projects and advise on legal and regulatory issues

Formulate and revise policies and guidelines and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with new and/or revised legal and/or regulatory requirements

Ensure timely execution of the compliance plan

Provide ad hoc support to senior manager when required

About you

Minimum 5 years of legal and/or compliance experience in banking or insurance from law firm and/or financial institutions

Sound knowledge in insurance laws and regulations

Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical and communication skills

Ability to timely and appropriately identify and escape issues

Self-motivated, independent and able to work under pressure

Qualified barrister or solicitor in Hong Kong (preferred)

Candidate with less experience may also be considered as Assistant Manager, Legal & Compliance.
