Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a proactive professional to support stakeholder engagement and strategic initiatives related to Mainland Affairs. Qualifications

  • Recognised university degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mainland Studies or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant corporate administration/secretarial experience, preferably in Mainland affairs or government relations.
  • Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Fast learner with ability to grasp internal financial protocols and administrative procedures.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; Putonghua is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of stakeholder engagement initiatives with government authorities, industry practitioners and partners.
  • Contribute to Mainland Development and BAU operations through effective engagement, coordination and follow-up actions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for business trips, official visits and events involving government stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, manage expenses, sponsorships, and vendor engagement for the department's BAU and ad hoc projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Executive Manager, Mainland Affairs, the post holder will provide logistical and clerical support for the department and team's efforts in formulating and executing strategic engagement initiatives with key stakeholders, including government authorities, industry practitioners, as well as community and enterprise partners, with a view to advancing the Club's sustainable development in the Mainland. The role will focus primarily on facilitating the team's and MA's engagement with relevant government authorities, thereby contributing to the Club's strategic programmes and BAU operations in the GBA.

The Job
  • Support the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement initiatives at the GBA to promote mutual understanding, build trust, strengthen collaboration, and foster long-term strategic partnerships in support of the Club's Mainland operations and development.
  • Support the Department's contribution to the Club's strategic initiatives, including Mainland Development and BAU operations, through effective stakeholder engagement, coordination and follow-up actions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for business trips, official visits and events involving government stakeholders.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support for the coordination of internal and external meetings, the preparation of meeting materials, financial administration (including expense claims and sponsorship/donation applications), service vendor engagement, and other activities related to the Department's BAU operations and ad hoc projects.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
About You
  • A recognised university degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mainland Studies, or a related discipline, preferably with relevant professional qualifications.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate administration or secretarial roles, preferably related to Mainland affairs, government relations, external affairs, public relations, customer relations and/or journalism.
  • Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A fast learner with the ability to quickly grasp internal financial protocols and administrative procedures.
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in Putonghua is essential.
