Job summary

CMHK in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Engineer (Operation and Maintenance) to perform routine inspections, supervise on-site construction, and support data entry and environmental monitoring. You will verify real-time monitoring readings against on-site gauges and participate in on-call Tier 2 support.

The role requires a relevant engineering degree, telecom exposure, and fluent English and Cantonese communication. This is a full-time, on-site position with discretionary bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Building Services, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of telecom industry experience preferred.
• Good communication skills; fluent in English and Cantonese.

Responsibilities

• Routine inspections and monitoring of company-owned equipment rooms, aggregation sites, leased facilities, and critical infrastructure (UPS units, battery banks, diesel generators, precision air conditioning, fire suppression).
• On-site construction supervision: safety briefings and supervision of third-party contractors to ensure quality and safety.
• Assist engineers in entering daily inspection data into the system and coordinate environmental monitoring data, system development, and maintenance; verify DCIM readings with on-site gauges.
• Handle on-site emergencies, participate in shift rotations and Tier 2 support duties.

In this position, you will:

• Conducting routine inspections: Performing regular inspections and operational status monitoring for all company-owned equipment rooms, aggregation (AGG) sites, leased facilities, and critical infrastructure (including UPS units, battery banks, diesel generators, precision air conditioning, and fire suppression systems).
• On-site construction supervision: Conducting safety briefings at work sites and supervising third-party contractors during construction and maintenance activities to ensure work quality and safety meet company compliance standards.
• Monitoring data entry and verification: Assisting engineers in entering daily inspection data into the system and coordinating tasks related to environmental monitoring equipment data, system development, and maintenance. Verify the consistency between real-time values in the monitoring system (DCIM) and physical on-site gauge readings.
• Emergency incident response: Handling on-site emergencies and unexpected incidents in equipment rooms, as well as participating in shift rotations and Tier 2 support duties.

To be successful in this position, you should meet the following requirements:

• Degree holder in Telecommunications, Building Services, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 2 years of relevant experience in telecom industry is preferred
• Good communication skills and fluent in English & Cantonese
