Job summary

SGS Hong Kong Limited is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support textile laboratory testing procedures in accordance with SOPs and relevant standards. The role involves preparing samples, performing tests, and evaluating colorfastness and post-launder appearance.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma in Textile/Garment/Physics/Product Testing/Chemistry, with 1 year of textile testing experience preferred. Fresh graduates may be considered as Engineer Trainee; strong English and Chinese communication

Qualifications

• Diploma in Textile/Garment/Physics/Product Testing/Chemistry or relevant disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in textiles testing preferred.
• Fresh graduate with high potential may be considered as Engineer Trainee.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and perform laboratory tests in accordance with SOPs, international standards and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate color change/ cross staining of colorfastness specimens based on international standards.
• Evaluate the appearance change of fabric/garment after laundering.
• Rate the effect or defects of test specimens.

Education

Job description

Evaluate the color change/ cross staining of the color fastness specimens base on the international standard

Evaluate the appearance change of fabric/ garment after laundering

Rate the effect or defects of test specimen

Requirements:

Diploma in Textile / Garment / Physics / Product Testing / Chemistry or relevant disciplines

Minimum 1 year of relevant experiencein textiles testing is preferred

Strong passion in laboratory testing and research

A good team player with positive working attitude

Analytical, detail-oriented and desire to learn

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Mandarin

Fresh graduate with high potential will be consideredasEngineer Trainee
