Job summary

Ocean Park Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Discovery & Education Manager to support the Education Partnership Team on a long-term contract (July 2026–June 2028). The role focuses on co-designing junior science education programmes with secondary schools and delivering resources and activities both inside the Park and in schools.

The ideal candidate holds a biology or education degree, a PGCE/PGDE preferred, and at least two years in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education or related disciplines.
• PGCE or PGDE preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in education or related fields.
• Experience developing teaching materials or teaching in junior science.
• Fluent in English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• Willing to work outdoors, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

(Long Term Contract, Contract Period: July 2026 - June 2028)

The incumbent will assist the Manager in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the funding project “From Framework to Classroom: Supporting Schools Through Junior Secondary Science Curriculum Transformation”. He/She will be responsible for collaborating closely with secondary school teachers to co-design and implement junior science education programmes and learning resources. Key duties include delivering education programmes within and outside the park, fostering school networks, designing and conducting professional teacher training, managing project expenditure, conducting surveys and audits; and performing other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education or related disciplines;
• Possession of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (“PGCE”) or Postgraduate Diploma in Education (“PGDE”) is preferred;
• At least 2 years of working experience in education or related fields;
• Prior experience in developing teaching materials or teaching in secondary school settings, particularly in junior science is preferred;
• Passionate about education;
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
• Computer literacy in MS office;
• Able to work under pressure and enjoy teamwork;
• Willing to work outdoors, and on weekends and during public holidays.
