Job summary

Aston Education in Wan Chai District, HK seeks an energetic tutor to teach secondary mathematics, physics, and chemistry across specialist classes. We value experience with HK DSE and strong cross-language teaching ability, with a readiness to commit long-term and work 5.5 days per week in afternoon sessions. HK work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, education, or related field.
• At least 1 year of secondary or tuition centre science teaching experience.
• Experience with Hong Kong local curriculum, especially DSE mathematics, physics, and chemistry, preferred.
• Fluent in Cantonese; able to explain concepts in Putonghua and English.

Job description

You will teach secondary mathematics, physics, and chemistry specialist classes, designing appropriate teaching strategies according to student levels to enhance learning outcomes and examination performance. You will manage classroom order comprehensively to create a focused, respectful, and actively engaged learning environment, ensuring smooth and orderly teaching processes in each lesson. You will independently complete teaching material preparation, lesson planning, and assignment marking, providing concrete analysis and improvement suggestions for common student errors. You will provide regular learning progress feedback and professional educational consultation to students and parents, helping to clarify learning difficulties, adjust learning methods, and build positive learning attitudes. You will lead small group teaching of 2–6 students, flexibly applying interactive teaching methods, and assist with daily centre operations including course introduction, new student orientation, and classroom administrative support.

About you

• Hold a recognised university bachelor's degree (majoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry, education, or related fields); current undergraduate students may be considered if graduation qualifications are obtained before employment
• Have at least 1 year of secondary or tuition centre science teaching experience
• Experience teaching Hong Kong local secondary school curriculum, particularly DSE mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects, is preferred
• Fluent in Cantonese; able to clearly explain subject concepts in Putonghua and English with cross-language teaching adaptability
• Possess good communication and coordination skills, high sense of responsibility, and empathy; able to patiently guide students with different learning styles and levels
• Willing to teach long-term and stably; work 5.5 days per week, 4–8 hours daily (mainly afternoon sessions)
• Hold valid Hong Kong work authorisation (such as permanent residency, TTPS, QMAS, IANG visa types)
• Base salary from HK$18,000, with tiered commission structure; monthly salary range HK$18,000–$45,000
