Job summary

Hohenstein Laboratories (Hong Kong) is seeking an energetic Assistant Chemist to join our chemical team in Kwai Fong. You will perform routine chemical testing, monitor instrument performance, and ensure ISO 17025 compliance while meeting project turnaround times.

Requirements include a degree in Chemistry, at least 1 year of lab experience, familiarity with GC-MS/MS, LC-DAD/MSMS, ICP-OES, AAS and UV-Vis, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or above in Chemistry or related subject.
• 1 year experience in chemical testing laboratory.
• Familiarity with operating and maintenance of analytical instruments (GC-MS/MS, LC-DAD/MSMS, ICP-OES, AAS, UV-Vis).
• Self-motivated, independent, good problem-solving skills, and with good communication skills.
• Good in organization and interpersonal skills with ability to establish relationships internally and externally.
• Flexible to work overtime.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• More experience will be considered for senior post.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine chemical testing according to SOP.
• Monitor instrument performance and maintain daily operations to meet testing turnaround time and deadline of projects.
• Ensure the laboratory is operated in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements.
• Report work progress, deficiencies and malfunctions to supervisor.
• Identify and report any potential problems within the analytical chemistry laboratory to supervisor.
