Job summary

CLEMENT C. W. CHAN & CO. is seeking an Assistant Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for a Hong Kong CPA firm. You will handle invoices, bank reconciliations, and year-end closings while supporting HR tasks and payroll processing.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Finance or Accounting and at least 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a CPA firm, with strong MS Excel and MYOB proficiency and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Preferably degree holder in Finance or Accounting discipline.
• Min. 4 years’ of accounting experience (8 to 12 years experience for non-degree holders)
• 1-2 working experience in CPA firm is an Advantage
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in HR recruitment, monthly payroll calculation and MPF affairs (including preparation and submission of employer’s return, etc.)
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Chinese word processing & MYOB system
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
• Positive working attitude, self-motivated, responsible, well-organized meticulous and hard-working
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Good, interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues of different departments of the Firm and clients
• Applicants who are immediate available or is qualified for short notice period are preferable

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounting duties of the Firm including year-end financial statements closing and submission of the annual tax returns to the IRD
• Maintain timely and accurate daily cash in and outflow reporting and operate on-line banking of the Firm
• Perform daily accounting, e.g. register invoices, preparation of bank payment and receipts, documentation and regular reconciliation to bank transaction on an online basis
• Chasing and follow up invoice settlement by email, and/or mail, and over the phone with clients
• Maintain proper payments schedule and payments in time
• Attend to staff recruitment (i.e. employee onboarding and personnel documentation).
• Maintain employee records, attendance, and leave administration.
• Handle full-cycle monthly payroll calculations and manage MPF submission
