Job summary

CLP Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Financial Accounting – CLP Power team in CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. The role reports to the Accountant and focuses on fixed assets accounting, period-end schedules and compliance with internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a university degree in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office 365. Oracle experience is a plus, and English/Chinese fluency is required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting/Finance (preferably student member of a recognized body).
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible, able to meet tight schedules.
• Oracle experience advantageous.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Power Automate/Power Query an added advantage.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the Financial Accounting – CLP Power team of our Financial Reporting & Compliance Department in CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. Reporting to the Accountant, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Perform fixed assets accounting, financial accounting and reporting according to the policies, guidelines and procedures
• Prepare accounting schedules for period-end reporting, profits tax filing and budgeting purposes
• Conduct control procedures to ensure fixed assets accounting process is in compliance with control requirements
• Provide advice and support to users for fixed assets accounting related matters
• Participate in the development and implementation of system and process improvement initiatives
• Provide day-to-day operation and administration support
• Handle any other ad hoc tasks and assignments as required

Requirements

• A university degree in Accounting / Finance, preferably a student member of a recognized professional accountancy body
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A good team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible, able to work under pressure and meet tight schedules
• Experience in using Oracle system will be advantageous
• Proficient in MS office 365 Apps, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, knowledge in Power Automate and Power Query would be an added advantage
• Proficient in both spoken and written English & Chinese
