Job summary

ATAL Engineering Ltd in Hong Kong seeks a Finance & Accounting Specialist to handle monthly closings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for assigned entities.

You will prepare statutory financial statements under HKFRS/IFRS, support interim and annual reports, coordinate audits and tax matters, and assist with intercompany reconciliations, controls, and ERP related projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or Finance; qualified accountant.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience; construction/engineering background preferred.
• Proficient in English and Chinese; strong communication skills.
• Excellent Excel skills; VBA knowledge highly preferred; Oracle experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monthly closings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for assigned entities.
• Statutory HKFRS/IFRS reporting and HKEX disclosure packages.
• Interim and annual statutory reporting for group entities.
• Coordinate audits and tax affairs with external auditors and advisors.

Job description

Monthly Closing & Operations: Prepare monthly, half yearly and year-end financial closings, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for assigned group entities

Statutory & Group Reporting: Prepare statutory financial statements, notes, and reporting packages in compliance with HKFRS / IFRS and HKEX Listing Rules

Interim & Annual Reporting: Actively participate in the preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures, and notes for the group’s interim and annual reports in compliance with HKFRS / IFRS and HKEX Listing Rules

Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors; manage statutory audits and tax returns for assigned group entities

Intercompany & Account Analysis: Perform monthly variance analyses on balance sheet and P&L accounts; review and reconcile intercompany accounts across group entities

Internal Controls & Compliance: Support the maintenance of internal accounting controls, risk compliance, and process improvements across the financial accounting function

Ad-hoc Assignments: Support technical accounting research, ERP system enhancements, and special corporate finance or reporting projects

Requirements:

Degree in Accountancy, Finance or similar discipline, Qualified accountant

Minimum 2-4 years relevant experience with background in construction / engineering industry preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft office and applications; well versed in Excel, VBA knowledge/ experience highly preferred

Knowledge in ERP and experience in Oracle is an advantage

Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese

Excellent communication skills, able to work and interface well with personnel at various levels

Proactive, independent, committed and with strong sense of responsibility to meet tight deadlines
