Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack) for its Hong Kong office to partner with portfolio managers, traders and risk teams, delivering production-grade front-office applications and influencing APAC technology strategy.

You will own end-to-end features, design scalable architectures, and collaborate with globally distributed teams to drive impactful solutions in a fast-paced hedge fund environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer in a production environment.
• Strong back-end skills in C# or Java.
• Experience building modern web applications using React, Angular, or Vue.
• Solid understanding of databases and SQL.
• Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and influence product direction.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technology partner for portfolio managers, traders, and risk teams in the APAC region.
• Represent regional priorities within a global engineering roadmap, influencing delivery outcomes.
• Design, build, and deploy full-stack solutions across front-end, back-end, and data layers.
• Own end-to-end development of critical features, particularly those driven by regional business needs.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams to ensure system consistency and scalability.
• Develop tools and workflows that support investment decision-making.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and translate their needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to hiring and represent the team in regional forums.
