Job summary

Ares Management seeks an Associate for its APAC Compliance team in Hong Kong. You will focus on day-to-day regulatory and compliance activities, collaborating with global and regional teams to ensure adherence to HK regulations and internal policies.

The role requires a self-motivated professional with strong ownership, detail orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across time zones. English fluency and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; JD or other advanced degree considered a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, preferably asset management.
• Strong understanding of HK regulatory framework for investment advisory and asset management activities; hands-on compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support the HK compliance programme, including licensing matters, fit and proper assessments, CPT, and personal account dealing.
• Develop and maintain recurring compliance trackers and reports to ensure regulatory conformance.
• Prepare regulatory filings and reporting, licensing applications, notifications, annual returns, and surveys.
• Track regulatory developments and enforcement actions relevant to Ares’ activities.
• Coordinate general compliance matters in North Asia ex Japan and support ad-hoc initiatives.
