Job summary

Ares Management Corporation's APAC Compliance team in Hong Kong seeks an Associate to support day-to-day regulatory and compliance activities in Hong Kong. You will work closely with global and regional teams to manage licensing, CPT, and ongoing monitoring, while delivering timely regulatory filings and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law or related field; JD or higher is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution.
• Strong understanding of HK regulatory framework for investment advisory and asset management.
• Knowledge of US/APAC regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support HK compliance programme including licensing matters, CPT, and personal account dealing.
• Run recurring control functions and develop trackers/reports for compliance monitoring.
• Prepare regulatory filings and annual returns, and coordinate regulatory surveys.
• Track regulatory developments and enforcement actions relevant to Ares.
• Coordinate general compliance matters in North Asia ex Japan; assist with ad-hoc initiatives.
• Collaborate with global/regional teams and business stakeholders.
