Centre for Oncology and Immunology is seeking an Assistant IT Manager on a fixed-term basis in Hong Kong. You will lead IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI/ML deployments, supporting researchers and staff across Linux servers, VMs, and hybrid AV for events.

The role emphasizes hands‑on HPC management, AI production systems, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. A master’s degree and 8+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Prior experience within an R&D or biomedical research environment is a strong advantage.
• Hands‑on experience provisioning, managing, and optimizing HPC environments; GPU clusters are required.
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Knowledge of vector databases, enterprise foundation models, and cloud deployment tools like Docker.
• Familiarity with PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL, and RESTful APIs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day end‑user technical support to researchers and admin staff.
• Oversee IT infrastructure including Linux servers, network, VPN/SSH, M365, NAS, and backups.
• Implement cybersecurity controls, IAM, vulnerability management, and data privacy policies.
• Provision and manage HPC infrastructure for AI training, fine‑tuning, and in-house models.
• Lead deployment and support of production AI applications.
• Coordinate website operations and development of in-house apps.
• Coordinate AV and hybrid video conferencing for events and seminars.
• Liaise with internal teams and external vendors; produce training materials.
• Undertake ad‑hoc IT projects as needed.
