Job summary

Manulife is seeking an Actuarial Director to oversee the business plan, consolidation and forecasting while presenting to senior stakeholders. You will lead key messages for strategy discussions and ensure timely delivery of results.

The role requires a Fellow actuary with 10+ years in insurance, plus strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across Pricing, Distribution, Strategy, Controllers and regional teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified fellow of a professional actuarial organisation.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Business Plan results, including results consolidation and presentation and timely submission
• Summarise key information and messages from Business Plan to facilitate efficient strategy discussion.
• Drive the monthly forecast on NBV, core earnings and expense gap and prepare presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Product Pricing Team, Distribution, Strategy, Controllers and regional teams in the business plan and forecast process.
• Oversee working and control validation to ensure the integrity of the business plan and forecast workflow.
• Manage enquiries related to business plan and forecast from various stakeholders, including both internal and regional teams.

Required Qualifications

• Qualified fellow of a professional actuarial organisation
• Minimum 10 years’ of relevant working experience in insurance industry
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, capable to function effectively as both an individual contributor and a team player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to details
• Solid actuarial knowledge and experience
• Capable to deliver results under pressure and within tight timeline
• Effective command of English, both spoken and written
