Job summary

Caritas-Hong Kong is seeking a proactive Accounting Officer II to join the Finance Office in central Hong Kong. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting across service units, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The successful candidate has a higher diploma or Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting, about 2 years of relevant experience, and strong English/Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Active enrolment as a CPA student preferred.
• Around 2 years of relevant work experience in finance within NGO/government/commercial sectors.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English and Chinese, written and spoken.
• Team player, detail-oriented, proactive and eager to learn.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist AFM with CAPEX/OPEX tracking and budget monitoring across service units.
• Assist in coordinating the annual budget exercise and ensure timely submissions.
• Support variance analysis, cost reviews and regular management reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and internal cost allocations.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation of financial systems.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the AFM.

Caritas-Hong Kong is a Catholic charitable agency which provides, among others, multi-service social welfare/ services to needy people of Hong Kong. The Finance Office is seeking a proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented Accounting Officer II to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team.

Finance Office

Responsibilities:

• 1. Project & Financial Planning: Assist the AFM with CAPEX/OPEX tracking and support day-to-day budget monitoring across service units;
• 2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in coordinating the annual budget exercise and follow up with service units to ensure timely submissions;
• 3. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Support variance analysis, cost reviews, and the preparation of regular management report;
• 4. Accounting Operations: Support month-end and year-end closing activities and internal cost allocations, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and internal policies;
• 5. Process Improvement & Automation: Contribute ideas and support initiatives to streamline financial systems, reporting, and budgeting processes;
• 6. Other Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned by the AFM.

Requirements:

• 1. Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
• 2. Active enrolment as a student member of CPA (or equivalent) is highly preferred;
• 3. Around 2 years of relevant work experience in commercial, government, and/or non-government organizations;
• 4. Good interpersonal and communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
• 5. A team player who is detail-oriented, positive, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative in a collaborative environment;
• 6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, exposure to major ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle (preferably Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) is a plus; and
• 7. Immediate availability is highly preferred.

Work Location: Caine Road, Mid-Levels

Salary: $20,000-$24,000 (Subject to qualifications and experience)
