Job summary

HKT is hiring a Network Support Engineer in Hong Kong to perform operational tasks, including configuring routers, switches, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs, and proxies as part of BAU activities.

You will support network and security components 24/7 and deploy monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Darktrace, CrowdStrike, and SIEM to track performance and threats. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in network and security operation roles.
• Strong understanding of network and security principles, practices, and technologies.
• Experience with network and security tools such as router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of major network and security vendors incl. Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Huawei, Aruba, SANGFOR, Hillstone, and related products.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational tasks such as implementing and configuring router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, and proxy policies as part of BAU activities.
• Support network and security components round‑the‑clock in areas such as router, switch, Wi‑Fi system, firewall, VPN, proxy, and security tools.
• Deploy and manage network monitoring tools to track network performance and security.
• Promptly investigate and address security alerts, incidents, and breaches with efficiency.
• Handle security events and incidents in a 24/7 environment to identify potential threats.
