Job summary

The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd is seeking a skilled IT Operations professional to join our North Point data centre team. The role requires 24-hour shift coverage, monitoring of critical hardware and software, and collaboration with contractors for routine and emergency maintenance.

The successful candidate will handle service requests, incidents, system admin and reporting tasks, while documenting work and driving process excellence. Proficiency in English and Chinese is essential.

Qualifications

Higher Diploma/Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related disciplines.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in data centre or computer room operations.
Experience in SAP and professional qualification on ITIL is a definite advantage.
Good command of English and Chinese languages, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

To perform 24-hour shift work on day-to-day data centre operations
To monitor the proper functioning of hardware, software, systems and data centre facilities
To work with contractors on routine and emergency maintenance
To perform service requests, incident handling & resolution, system administrative and reporting tasks, logging of events, documentation of works, and other duties as assigned
To be an owner of certain assigned processes and drive for excellence in those owned processes
To be the primary contact point for IT Service Desk after office hours
