Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic refrigeration business who are looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep and maintenance of their internal factory plant equipment. This is a permanent position located at their depot in Wrexham.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Carry out work assignments issued and maximize effectiveness of the shift at all times by ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
2. Demonstrate a team approach with regard to maintenance and hygiene of equipment and support (teams of) Logistics.
3. Provide support to the team during breaks and absences and work together to ensure completion of their duties.
4. Follow all work instructions, procedures, job descriptions at all times.
5. Ensure that all Work Orders, PMs issued to the shift are completed.
6. Complete and check all necessary paperwork.
7. Work with other functions as part of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient running of the site and carry out prioritized work as agreed.
8. Carry out the assigned activities to meet operational targets; working with other functions to ensure mutual objectives are met.
9. Compliance with Company policies, procedures and regulations (e.g. attendance, quality, safety, GMPs, etc.) and ensure these are followed to maintain the required standards (e.g. Food Safety, PPE, etc.).
10. Resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion.
11. Order spare parts as required on shift if unavailable from stock and contact contractors/suppliers as required in order to resolve problems on shift.
12. Ensure all parts removed from stores while on shift are booked out of stores in the correct way.
13. Where necessary, must initiate the purchase of parts or equipment completing the relevant order requisition forms with relevant information.
14. Provide the Engineering manager with information on all engineering downtime attended on shift, related quality issues, work orders completed, PMs completed and other details as required.
15. Identify and analyse problems before crises and determine appropriate action and follow up.
16. Ensure remedial works on site are raised by work order or PMs are highlighted to the Manager.
17. Work closely with Logistics teams. Work under supervision of engineering managers. Ensure that handovers are smooth and efficient whilst sharing relevant information with other engineers.
18. Request/give information from/to the engineering manager.
19. Capable of instructing un-skilled/semi-skilled people in simple operations of equipment.
20. Use of power tools, drills, grinders, cutting equipment, saws, files, presses.
21. Use of ladders, steps, walkways.
22. May have to work with hot/cold equipment using suitable safe systems of work and/or PPE.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Previous manufacturing/processing/warehouse/cold-store industry experience.
2. Electrical bias, electrical qualifications/time served apprenticeship.
3. 4 years experience.
4. A good standard of both written and oral English.
5. Basic Health & Safety.
6. Data and analytical skills.
7. Computer literate (Word/Excel/Windows based packages).

Desirable skills:

1. PLC knowledge.
2. Working on hydraulic systems.
3. Working on temperature control systems.
4. Working with instrumentation systems.
5. Welding experience.
6. FLT/MEWP license.
