A recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a qualified Field Service Engineer for a permanent role in Preston. The position involves traveling to clients to conduct maintenance and repairs on specialized vehicles. The ideal candidate should have relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ, and be self-motivated. The role offers a salary between £40,000 and £45,000 with day shifts from Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified as HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Desirable qualifications include IRTEC or equivalent.
Responsabilités
- Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and service requests.
- Perform engine work and diagnostics.
- Inspect and correct electrical wiring issues.

Monday to Friday role. Day shifts
Salary - £40,000 - £45,000
You will be travelling within a designated area and have use of a fully equipped van. You will be working on a variety of specialised vehicles which could include cargo and ground support equipment, industrial type tractors and tugs/shunters. It could also involve working at airports, sea ports, main dealers, manufacturing sites or military installations.
We are looking for a self-motivated and independent HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician who can travel to our clients various workshops in a designated area conducting:
- Preventative Maintenance
- Emergency Breakdowns
- Pre-arranged servicing at rural sites
- Engine work and diagnostic investigations
- Hydraulics and pneumatics?
- Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections?
Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence but not essential.
