A leading educational provider in South London is looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students with special educational needs (SEN). This full-time, permanent role involves working closely with teaching staff to tailor learning and promote emotional wellbeing of students. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Term-Time - South London
We're seeking an experienced HLTA to support girls with SEN, SEMH, and PMLD in a specialist setting. A rewarding opportunity to make real impact.
Location: SE5
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5/week, 8:30am-4:00pm
Salary: 25,831 - 27,406 FTE (pro rata)
Start: September 2025 or sooner
The Role
Support students through 1:1 and small group interventions, working closely with the SEND Lead and teaching staff. Help deliver tailored learning, promote emotional wellbeing, and support whole-school goals. Requires resilience, behaviour management skills, and trauma-informed practice.
Requirements
HLTA status or willingness to train
GCSE English & Maths (C or above)
Experience with SEN, SEMH, or PMLD
Strong behaviour and communication skills
Knowledge of safeguarding (KCSIE)
Desirable
Delivered accredited courses (GCSE, Functional Skills)
Used data to support progress
Worked with external agencies
