Job summary
A local authority in Hertfordshire is seeking a Property Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate must hold a law-related qualification and have experience in property and land law. Responsibilities include assisting with conveyancing, drafting legal documents, and supporting legal services related to property assets. This contract role offers a competitive hourly rate and is predominantly office-based with the possibility of hybrid working after settling in.
Qualifications
- A law-related qualification (LPC / LLM / LLB) as well as legal work experience are essential.
- Strong working knowledge of property and land law, including Housing Acts and relevant case law.
- Previous experience providing technical advice on conveyancing and complex property matters.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of property-related legal services, ensuring best use of the Council’s property assets.
- Assisting with commercial and residential conveyancing, including Right to Buy matters.
- Drafting legally binding documents, correspondence and completion statements.
- Identifying and escalating legal irregularities or potential fraudulent activity.
