Paralegal (Commercial Property)Location: Stamford, LincolnshireSalary: Dependent on experienceHours: Full time, Monday–Friday, 9.00am–5.15pm (36.25 hours per week)A well-established and respected law firm is seeking an Experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join its busy team in Stamford. This is a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial property transactions and develop your expertise in a supportive and professional environment.The RoleThe successful candidate will work on a broad range of matters, including:
- Liaising with clients and handling enquiries
- Assisting with leasehold and freehold acquisitions and disposals
- Drafting and reviewing leases
- Carrying out due diligence, including title investigation and responding to enquiries
- Undertaking and reporting on property searches
- Liaising with agents and utility companies in relation to easements and transfers
- Preparing auction packs
- Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion tasks, including Stamp Duty Land Tax, Companies House filings, and Land Registry registrations
- Ensuring balances are cleared and files are closed at the conclusion of matters
- Delivering ongoing service to existing clients
- Supporting colleagues to develop new business opportunities
- Contributing to the growth of the Commercial Property department and encouraging cross-referrals within the firm
- Meeting fee income targets and objectives
- Keeping up to date with changes in commercial property law and practice
- Maintaining and enhancing legal skills through ongoing professional development
- Managing financial aspects of matters, including billing and collection of monies on account
- Recording work and time accurately
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with quality and risk management procedures
- Law degree or equivalent work-based experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong IT skills
