Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Transit Engineer, PE to join our Transportation team in one of our Twin Cities metro offices. We are looking to add a Transit Project Engineer, PE who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! As a Transit Project Engineer you will lead and/or oversee transit engineering studies, preliminary designs, final designs, technical specifications and cost estimating related to bus rapid transit, streetcar, light rail, and multimodal/active transportation projects.

We are looking for candidates who possess a high capacity for self-motivation and can apply engineering and transportation engineering knowledge to a variety of projects. In addition, you must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies. This role can be based out of any of our Twin Cities locations and has the ability to have a hybrid work schedule.

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Performs detailed design computations
2. Performs preliminary layout, modeling and design.
3. Researches and prepares rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
4. Assists with project design and preparation of plans and specifications and prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates.

What We Are Looking For:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
2. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
3. 12+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including transportation and municipal infrastructure
4. 6 or more years of progressively responsible transit experience or equivalent
5. Working knowledge of federal transportation project processes and requirements.
6. Working knowledge of transitway project development.
7. Working knowledge of MMUTCD and Highway Capacity Manual
8. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8 and GIS
9. Must possess a valid drivers license and their own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel

Salary Range: $68,000 - $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
