The Opportunity:

To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Senior Associate, Compliance to join our European Compliance Team.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Provide Compliance advisory oversight and support to Hamilton Lane’s EMEA offices
• Assist with drafting and maintaining of compliance policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing regulatory reporting (incl. the FCA, BaFin and CSSF).
• Research regulatory updates and draft briefing notes, and participate in regulatory change projects as required.
• Liaise and manage external consultants, lawyers and advisers
• Coordinating with internal groups in the collection of audit requests.
• Assist with the design, implementation and execution of the Compliance Monitoring Program based on the Compliance Risk Assessment.
• Ensure marketing activity is conducted in compliance with regulations.
• Assist in overseeing the ongoing SMCR framework for Hamilton Lane’s UK entities.
• Various ad hoc projects as requested.

Your background and skills will include:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position
• Financial services experience, ideally with a focus on private markets
• Legal background is advantageous but not essential
• Experience dealing directly with UK and European (ideally BaFin) regulators
• Working understanding of European regulations including MIFID II, AIFMD, SFDR, GDPR, SMCR etc.
• AML experience highly desirable
• Proven communication and analytical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be proactive, self-starter and able to interact with people who have varied personalities and work styles.
• Language Skills Preferred – German and/or Italian
• Bachelor’s degree
