At BSI, we are looking for a Product Certification Auditor to play a key role in maintaining product excellence. In this role, you’ll conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI’s certification schemes and Kitemark standards.

We’re seeking professionals to deliver product assessment audits in areas including construction products (aggregates, concrete, ready mix cement), gas appliances, personal protective equipment manufacturing, fire safety equipment manufacturing, doors & windows (fenestration), or structural steel/aluminium (EN 1090).

Previous auditing experience is a plus, as well as expertise in quality management systems (ISO 9001). 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be a distinct benefit.

* This is a field-based position requiring extensive travel and potential overnight stays across the UK & Ireland.

* Suitable locations include: Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Kent.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Prepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure understanding and clear corrective actions.
2. Recommend issuing, re-issuing, or withdrawing certificates, following BSI policies and procedures.
3. Maintain responsibility for nominated accounts, ensuring excellent service and account growth.
4. Lead assessment teams, ensuring quality and effective working relationships with clients and team members.
5. Provide accurate information to support services, ensuring client records are up to date.
6. Coach and mentor colleagues, especially less experienced assessors.
7. Plan and schedule workloads efficiently to maximize revenue.
8. Attend training and follow policies for client management, equipment use, and communication.
9. Complete onboarding to reach Lead Assessor status as per program requirements.
10. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in audit practices and assessments.
11. Manage a portfolio of clients based on location and qualifications.
12. Contact clients, schedule visits, plan assessments, and report results efficiently.
13. Monitor client accounts to ensure satisfaction and proper record-keeping.
14. Lead teams and mentor colleagues as needed.
15. Perform any other duties to meet assessment delivery objectives.

Education/Qualifications:

1. Minimum 4 years’ industry experience in product manufacturing and quality management or product assessment auditing.
2. Qualification in a manufacturing or construction-related subject.
3. Experience in product assessment or auditing against standards.
4. Ability to travel extensively across the UK.
5. Knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing practices.
