Are you an experienced Financial or Business Controller with an interest in sustainability? Would you like to work for an organisation that prioritises the climate and energy transition? This business, a global infrastructure fund manager based in the Netherlands, is looking to enhance its expertise in non-financial reporting and sustainability accounting by hiring a new Sustainability & Financial Controller. This is a strategically important position that sits at the intersection of sustainability, finance and data teams. You will ensure that the organisation has accountable and transparent reporting processes and tools, aligning sustainability performance with the overall financial and investment strategy.

• Sustainability Accounting – you’ll be responsible for collecting, organising and maintaining sustainability-related data that supports the organisation’s sustainability strategy and responsible investment approach
• Reporting & Compliance – you’ll establish and maintain rigorous governance frameworks to ensure compliance with global regulations and standards, as well as tracking sustainability-related data and metrics
• Stakeholder Engagement – you’ll serve as a liaison between the sustainability team and the internal groups responsible for inputs to sustainability reporting, as well as external organisations
• Leadership and Team Development – you’ll lead and develop a small team of ambitious specialists

• Significant previous experience as a Financial or Business Controller for a multifaceted corporation or investment firm
• A master’s degree in finance or accounting
• Proven experience leading small teams in data-driven and financial environments
• Experience of data enrichment, including the use of PowerBI, and awareness of coding languages such as SQL or Pythin
• Experience collaborating with IT teams, with the ability to engage with technical terminology, i.e. MoSCoW prioritisation, agile methodologies or sprint planning
• A genuine interest in learning about a range of sustainability topics such as reporting frameworks, climate policy, decarbonisation, human rights, water & waste management and emissions management
• Previous experience with sustainability reporting frameworks is not essential, but would be a ‘nice to have’
