A leading financial services firm in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Accountant to manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process and support the finance team. The ideal candidate should have AAT Level 3 or equivalent, experience in a similar position, and strong analytical skills. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £28,000 DOE and the opportunity for hybrid working in a dynamic team environment.

- Responsible for the end-to-end purchase ledger process
- Processing of bi-weekly payment runs
- Investigating & posting bank transactions
- Conducting bank reconciliations
- Produce management information reporting, including manipulation of data in excel
- Reconcile daily sales data against payments received and recording receipts
- Reconcile monthly supplier statements and chase invoices
- Making customer payments & keeping reconciliations to the accounting software
- Provide cover and support within wider finance team
- Query resolution engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Complete ad-hoc work as assigned
- Working towards or achieved AAT L3
- Experience in a similar finance assistant / accounts assistant position
- Ideally experienced in SAGE 50
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Motivated to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills - able to communicate financial information in a way that non-financial people can understand it
