Job description

KEY PURPOSE:

The Team Accountant is responsible for providing accounting support to ensure the smooth and professional operations of BK Accounts Ltd. The team accountant will support the team and directors to enable compliance with legal and financial responsibilities and provide effective service delivery to our clients.

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • The capacity to inspire and motivate others.
  • The ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
  • Administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain records and produce clear written and oral reports.
  • You will need to be qualified to AAT or to this level (essential)
  • With at least 2 years relevant experience in an accountancy practice (essential)
  • Confident communicator both verbally and written.
  • This position may suit someone returning to work after a career break or wanting to gain further experience within a professional practice.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and word skills would be beneficial.
  • You will need to have a good understanding of accounts preparation including how to use multiple accounting software such as VT Transactions/Iris/QuickBooks/Xero.
  • Have experience to prepare full accounts and provide a high-quality advice to a wide range of businesses.
  • Working closely with team members, ensuring expectations, deadlines and budgets are met.
  • There will be opportunities to develop your skills further, and opportunity to progress taking a more responsible role within our team.
  • Alongside this you will also be able to manage and grow our talented team, including providing support for our junior staff.
  • A working knowledge of farming or a related sector would be useful but not essential.
  • Assisting with business development, identifying opportunities to grow the company's client base.

The role holder will need to provide two satisfactory references, Right to Work in the UK and Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate issued by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
