Job summary
A leading engineering manufacturer in the United Kingdom is seeking a specialist in materials and production planning. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow within a global powerhouse, with a clear pathway for progression into management. Responsibilities include processing sales order data, managing the MRP system, analyzing inventory data, and supporting new product development. Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years of experience and technical proficiency in tools such as Excel and SAP.
Qualifications
- 2 years+ planning experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Technical proficiency with Excel, MRP (SAP), Power BI, and production scheduling.
- Logical and methodical mindset, eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process sales order data and quotes.
- Run and process the MRP system, analyzing results.
- Analyze inventory data and recommend stock adjustments.
- Update BOMs, approve ECNs, and support new product development.

Reporting into the planning manager and working alongside an established group of materials and production planners, you will be exposed to both sides of the planning department, alongside other areas within the business, including stores, engineering, and inventory. Your responsibilities will include…
- Receive and process sales order data/quotes
- Run and process the MRP system, analysing result and converting planned orders
- Analyse inventory data, recommend strategic purchases and stock adjustments
- Update BOM’s, approve ECN’s, and support new product development
- 2 years+ planning experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Technical proficiency with tools such as excel, MRP (SAP), power BI and material flow/production scheduling
- Personality: logical and methodical mindset, eager to learn and show proactiveness
