Job summary

A local authority recruitment agency is seeking a Planning Officer for a temporary position of 6 months in South East England. The role is full-time and requires processing planning applications, conducting site visits, and regular MS Teams meetings. Job description

Buckingham Futures is working with a Local Authority based in South East England who are seeking a Planning Officer to join their Core Development Management team. This is a temporary role for 6 months with a full-time commitment of 37 hours per week.

Location & Working Arrangements
  • Hybrid working: minimum 1 day per week in the office for collaboration/team meetings
  • Site visits required across the Team.3 area (Amersham, Chesham, Marlow, The Missendens)
Contract Details
  • Start: ASAP
  • Temporary: 6 months
  • Inside IR35
  • Max pay: £39.46 per hour
  • Full-time only

Role Responsibilities
  • Processing a variety of planning applications, including prior notifications and pre-application enquiries
  • Liaising with applicants and agents
  • Preparation of delegated and committee reports
  • Conducting site visits
  • Participating in MS Teams meetings and discussions
  • Attending the office at least one day per week for team collaboration
Requirements
  • Experience in Development Management, ideally within a Local Authority setting
  • Familiarity with MS Teams
  • Knowledge of Uniform/Idox systems preferred
  • Ability to carry out site visits and maintain professional communication with applicants and stakeholders
