Job summary
A prominent technology consulting firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a Database Administrator specializing in Azure and PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will manage and tune the database performance for a significant eCommerce platform, ensuring smooth operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a distributed team environment with US customers are essential qualities. Skills
The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance and development of an eCommerce platform for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week. Solutions are delivered by several Product Teams focused on different domains - Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, Cart. Current overriding priorities are new brands onboarding, re-architecture, database migrations, migration of microservices to a unified cloud-native solution without any disruption to business.
- We are looking for a Database Administrator with experience of managing PostgreSQL in the cloud, who can help to tune performance of client platform:
- Strong DBA experience with Azure and PostgreSQL on Azure
- Readiness to work until 9:00 pm CET (no overtime)
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Queries, Joins, functions and procedures
- Experience managing PostgreSQL in Azure
- Excellent skills in Postgres tuning with and without tools and plugins / extensions
- Networking, Infra components, Postgres settings and flags
- Monitoring tools and usage of analyzing workloads and query benchmark measurements for applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Azure Management Instance and familiarity with ADF
- Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure database management (official proof or references are required)
- DevOps and GitHub
- Experience of working in distributed teams, with US customers
