We’re currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in a range of SEN schoolsand alternative provisionsacross Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, support amazing young people, and work with a team that values your skills and time.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, PMLD, Challenging Behaviour)
• Help implement learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
• Create a positive, inclusive environment for learning
• Assist with personal care tasks where required (depending on setting)

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, youth work, care, or similar settings)
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
