Our client, a leader in the financial services technology sector, is currently seeking a Systems Architect to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in designing and implementing robust system architectures that support business objectives, particularly in payments and issuing domains, and drive technological advancement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design scalable and efficient system architectures that meet business and regulatory requirements within the financial services landscape

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse complex technical and business requirements, with a focus on payment processing and card issuing systems

Develop comprehensive architectural plans and high-quality documentation

Oversee integration of software and hardware components across secure environments

Ensure system security and compliance with financial services industry standards and regulations

Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to cross-functional development teams

Conduct regular system performance assessments and drive optimisation initiatives

Stay abreast of emerging technologies, particularly within the financial technology space

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in systems architecture within the financial services sector

Strong background in payments and/or issuing platforms is essential

Deep understanding of system design principles and architectural methodologies

Experience in developing architectural documentation and roadmaps

Knowledge of software/hardware integration and enterprise systems

Familiarity with security protocols, compliance standards, and risk management in financial environments

Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is highly desirable

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
