Job summary

COLAS ROADS UK is seeking Winter Maintenance Drivers for the Midlands Area 1 contract. Based at Coleshill, you will drive a Winter Maintenance Gritting Vehicle on a zero-hour PAYE basis, with a daily lump sum of £20 and £16.50 per hour worked.

Availability through the season (Oct 1 to May 1) is required, with hours varying by callouts and weather. You must have HGV Class 2 and CPC, and be able to reach Coleshill or Strensham depots within an hour.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 entitlement and a full CPC is essential.
• City and Guilds qualification will be arranged for mid-October 2023; Winter Maintenance qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Winter Maintenance Gritting Vehicle during the winter maintenance season.
• Be on standby and follow duty supervisor directions to respond to callouts.
• Undertake gritting, vehicle cleaning, fuelling and record keeping on your route.
