Job summary

COLAS ROADS UK is seeking Winter Maintenance Drivers on a zero‑hour PAYE basis for the Midlands Area 9 contract. Based in Strensham, Worcestershire, you will operate a grit‑spreading vehicle during the winter season, maintaining routes and equipment while responding to callouts and weather conditions.

Ideal candidates hold HGV Class 2 with CPC and a full UK licence; City & Guilds training may be provided. A lump sum daily pay of £20 plus £16.50 per hour worked applies, with holiday and pension

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 entitlement and CPC are required.
• City and Guilds qualification is desirable; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Winter Maintenance Gritting Vehicle on Area 9 during the winter season.
• Standby and respond to during weather callouts; maintain records and vehicle cleanliness.
• Undertake gilling and associated tasks; ensure environmental and safety compliance.
