Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 6 with ASD in Billinge. The role is full-time, starting September 2026, temporary but long-term, with a focus on behaviour management and nurturing support.

Hours are 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday. You will assist the class teacher, prepare resources, and maintain a patient learning environment tailored to the child’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years.
  • Must have a passion for education.
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
  • Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
  • Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
  • Deliver catch-up sessions

Year 6 Teaching Assistant- Billinge

Milk Education are working with a primary school in Billinge (WN5) who are seeking a full-time Year 6 Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 6 with ASD who displays challenging behaviour.

This Year 6 Teaching Assistant role is starting in September 2026 and will be a temporary, long-term role.

The school is looking for someone with good behaviour management and who is also patient, nurturing, and accommodating to the child's learning needs for this Year 6 Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 08:30am-15:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This Year 6 Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensuring the child's needs are being met. In this Year 6 Teaching Assistant role, you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Your main responsibilities will include:
