Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Whickham, Gateshead, to appoint a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.

This full-time role is ideal for a caring and proactive TA with experience in Key Stage 2 who is committed to helping children build confidence, independence and academic skills. You will support learning in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience with primary-aged children, KS2 preferred.
• Experience with Year 6 would be desirable.
• Proactive approach to supporting learning and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 6 pupils with learning activities and independent work.
• Promote confidence, independence and academic skills.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff to meet needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with Key Stage 2 pupils and is committed to helping children develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.

Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Essential Criteria

• Recent experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2
• Experience supporting pupils in Year 6 would be desirable
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
• A positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Must live locally to Gateshead – no relocation
