Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Ince, WN2. You will support Year 6 pupils, help keep learners on track for SATs, and work closely with the class teacher from September on a long-term temporary basis.

We welcome applicants with recent school experience, strong numeracy and literacy, and a proactive, team-focused approach. Full-time hours, supportive culture, and ongoing professional development available.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in a school or education setting.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.

Year 6 Teaching Assistant

We’re currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Ince, WN2 to work in the Year 6 class to support the Year 6 pupils with their learning, keeping them on track for their SATs. This role is on a long-term basis starting in September and is a temporary role.


You’ll be joining a supportive and nurturing school, focused on supporting children to respect and encourage each other. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting across the Year 6 class, responding to all children’s individual needs

  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps

  • Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources

  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong


Requirements or Skills:


  • Recent experience working in a school or education setting

  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience

  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
