Job summary

Heath Farm College in Maidstone is seeking a Youth Coach to support students’ behaviour, wellbeing and engagement. You will work with teaching staff, wellbeing and pastoral teams to help learners regulate emotions, re-engage with learning and develop positive behaviours, both on campus and off-site.

The role involves delivering 1:1 and small-group sessions, implementing behaviour plans, coordinating with families and external professionals, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group wellbeing sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor student behaviour, including managed returns to class
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group wellbeing sessions, supporting emotional regulation and self-management
  • Implement agreed behaviour and wellbeing strategies across the school
  • Act as a point of contact between school, families, and external professionals
  • Support students following bespoke timetables, including off-site provision
  • Plan and write risk assessments, ensuring compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Provide on‑call support to staff when required
  • Contribute to whole‑school behaviour initiatives, rewards systems, and student responsibilities
  • Coach students in emotional regulation, self‑management, and positive choices
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and monitor their impact
