Job summary

The Children's Society in Torbay is seeking a Service Manager for Pathway to Adulthood (Education Other Than At School). This permanent role (funding to 31 August 2027, with potential extension) offers 35 hours per week and a salary of £35,100 per annum.

You will lead the team supporting young people in transition to adulthood, education and employment, travelling across Torbay to meet services and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people who are underserved, marginalised, or disengaged from mainstream services and support systems.
• Ability to educate, inform, coach and mentor children and young people
• Ability to carry out high quality needs and strengths based assessments.
• Experience in working with SEND children and young people
• Co-design goal based plans to support children and young people to meet their goals.
• Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and complete all requirements relating to data collection.
• Able to identify, evaluate and effectively reduce and manage risk.
• Experience in delivering both one to one and group sessions
• To travel across Torbay to attend meetings in a variety of locations
• Experience of managing a successful team of professionals

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the Pathway to Adulthood team supporting children and young people in transition to adulthood, further education and employment.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and young people.
• Deliver high quality sessions (one-to-one and group) and track progress against goals.
• Coordinate data collection and maintain accurate records per service protocols.
