Job summary

Paragon Social Care in County Durham is seeking a Children’s Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to children and young people in residential homes and community-based packages. You will help them build confidence, independence and positive life choices while working as part of a dedicated team.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check, and availability for 2–3 shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Willing to complete Enhanced DBS check.
• Available to work a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week.
• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Providing practical and emotional support to children and young people.
• Build positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.
• Support daily routines, education and life skills.
• Promote independence and positive life choices.
• Transporting young people to school, appointments and activities.
• Work with social workers, families and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and assist safeguarding processes.
