Job summary

Peabody is recruiting a Support Worker for Young People’s Services across Hertfordshire. You will help young people aged 16-25 develop skills, confidence and independence, including those facing homelessness or mental health challenges.

The role is based across various locations with a focus on person-centred support and safeguarding. You’ll conduct needs assessments, support plans, and assist with daily living tasks while coordinating with external services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable people in the community or in a supported living environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with young people and external partners.
• Empathetic, compassionate approach with genuine desire to help.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT literacy including MS Office and data entry systems.
• Driving licence and own vehicle for travel between schemes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people in supported housing.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments and develop review support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and managing finances.
• Liaise with external agencies, attend meetings and training, and maintain records.
• Safeguarding, promoting equality, and delivering Peabody values and policies.
