Job summary

Peabody is hiring a Housing Support Worker to assist young people aged 18–25, including care leavers, with independent living skills, housing access, budgeting, and benefits. This is a practical and emotional support role, not a care role, based in Lewisham and working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent, full-time basis.

You’ll join a values-led team that emphasizes kindness, inclusion, and partnership with external providers to ensure effective, person-centred support.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting 18–25-year-olds, including care leavers.
• Budgeting, benefits, and housing options experience.
• Strong communication and IT skills are essential.
• Safeguarding knowledge or key working experience is helpful.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Help young people develop independent living skills and housing options.
• Assist with budgeting, benefits, and accessing housing.
• Create a safe, non-judgmental environment that empowers residents.
