Job summary

Vetro Recruitment in Merthyr is seeking a dedicated Young Persons Support Worker to help children and young people with daily activities, independence and wellbeing, including periods of weekend and trips away. You will need a UK driving licence, restraint training (TMVA), an enhanced DBS, and the right to work in the UK.

We offer weekly pay, free meals on shift, training, a pension, and support from a specialist consultant.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in a social care setting (minimum 6 months).
TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate.
Valid UK Driving Licence.
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Support children and young people in daily activities and interests.
Promote independence and wellbeing.
Attend weekends away, holidays and trips with the children.
Attend weekend and evening activities to support the children and young people in their interests.
Protect the children and young people from risks to health and welfare.
Provide emotional and practical support to the young people in your care.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety.
Help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging.
