Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker for residential services in Porthcawl, Wales. You will support children and young people daily, helping them reach their potential in a nurturing, safe environment.

The role requires empathy, resilience, and at least 6 months of experience; TMVA restraint training or willingness to train; a valid UK driving licence; an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one; right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children.
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with children or in a similar social care setting.
  • Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to undergo training.
  • Current UK Driving Licence
  • Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests.
  • Promote independence and overall wellbeing of the young residents.
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to support children’s social development.
  • Participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to leisure parks.
  • Protect children from health and safety risks, ensuring their welfare at all times.
  • Provide emotional and practical support tailored to individual care plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Support behaviour management strategies to minimise challenging incidents
