Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Youth Support Worker for a specialist provision near Berkeley, Gloucestershire, to start this coming September. The setting supports 15 children with SEND, across two cohorts, aged 2–19, with a Tue–Fri pattern and a strong holistic approach to learning through play.

Job description

Axcis are pleased to be working with a specialist provision near Berkeley, Gloucestershire, who are looking for a Youth Support Worker to join their team starting this coming September. The setting currently caters for 15 children split across two cohorts – approx. 7 in each, one taking place on a Tuesday and Wednesday, the other on a Thursday and Friday and the children have SEND needs and disabilities ranging from Autism to SEMH to Global delay and can also display varying levels of challenging behaviour. The ages of the children vary from 2‑19 and the cohorts are split with their needs as supposed to age. The setting is currently looking for someone to work Tuesday to Friday (They are closed on Mondays) on a long term basis for the full academic year from Tuesday 31st August, with a high likelihood for the right candidate being offered a permanent contract should they be the right fit for the provision. This already well established and sought after school currently have a waiting list of children to start but need to ensure the right number of the best staff is in place first before they can expand further. This wonderful setting uses a very holistic approach to support, they do a lot of baking, gardening and sports with the children and find the engaging activities a great way to learn through play! The pay for this role varies between £14.25 – £16.50 per hour dependant on candidates prior experience and due to the remote location of the setting, you will need to have access to your own transport. You must also either have your own enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain a new one also.
