Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Youth Support Worker for a specialist provision near Berkeley, Gloucestershire, to start this coming September. The setting supports 15 children with SEND, across two cohorts, aged 2–19, with a Tue–Fri pattern and a strong holistic approach to learning through play.

The role is temporary for the academic year with potential for a permanent contract. A enhanced DBS certificate is required or in progress; owning transport is preferred due to the remote

Qualifications

• Must be suitably qualified for the position and prepared to attend a face to face interview.
• Must have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
• If the position involves working with children or vulnerable adults, the role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

Responsibilities

• Support SEND children aged 2‑19 in a specialist provision, across two cohorts.
• Engage children in learning through play with activities like baking, gardening and sports.
• Work Tue–Fri for the full academic year, with potential for permanent contract for the right candidate.
